Attention Trainers, Facilitators, Presenters and Group Workers...
Fancy 3 days of creative training for trainers?
Looking to build your training toolkit? Wanting to spend time on
your own career and development as a trainer?
Dear Friend,
Are you a trainer, group worker, presenter or facilitator who...
- is ready to discover how to deliver training that captivates,
motivates and persuades your audience time after time after
time
- is passionate about training, learners and learning and
ready to discover how your training events are consistently meaningful
- is comfortable with your style of training delivery and presentation
style, yet you are seeking more training tools and techniques
to raise your audience's curiosity and leave them longing for
more
- is tired of the length of time you spend planning training
events. You are looking for more effective use of your time
whilst increasing the learning
- is seeking information to ensure that all your training content
is real, exhilarating and embedded
- is bored with traditional training and learning methods,
and you are ready to discover the benefits of feeding the audience
before, during and after the event
- is feeling stuck and ready for new ways to deliver training,
learning and information
- gets through the content, the speech, the learning although
you are never really sure if you are making it real and making
a difference
- knows that you have something inside you that will make you
an excellent trainer, group worker, facilitator - if only
you had more information, more resources, more confidence
- wants to deliver fantastic and dazzling learning and training
events time and time again
- works in an organisation where money is tight and the training
has to be delivered to obtain outcomes. Get it wrong, and
learners are lost forever, not to mention your funding
- is ready to learn and incorporate proven training methods that
get results such as NLP, Accelerated Learning, Motivational
Interviewing, Emotional Intelligence, Brain Based Learning, Story
Telling and Mindmapping
Would you like hands on help from someone who has brought it all
together for you?
Someone who has worked as a trainer in the public, private and voluntary
sector for the past 15 years?
Yes?
Then I am ready and willing this December 10-12.
Let's face it: being responsible for training, facilitation and
group work is not the easiest job in the world. Everyone is capable
of pulling something together, yet what makes brilliant trainers,
group workers and facilitators stand out from the rest?
You can be faced with learners, groups and audiences who have been
sent to you. They may not want to be there. They have seen it all
before, and they spend the session thinking, 'what could you possibly
teach me?' Who can blame them? They may have been the victims
of boring, ineffective and meaningless training and learning
for a very long time.
You may be exhausted by the amount of time you spend planning the
actual content. Perhaps you strive to have all your training content
detailed right down to last minute. Maybe training, presenting or
facilitating has become an unwelcome part of your role, and you
have no idea where to start.
Is 'being on the podium' a task you just do because thats
whats expected of you in your role and inside you detest every
minute? Do you feel sick, anxious, nervous and worried that you
will screw it up, go blank or die 'up there'?
You may have been at it some time and are longing to learn new tools,
tips and training techniques that will see you grow and develop
in your role. You need a new lease of life, so to speak.
The good news is, right now, as you read this, there are potentially
millions of wonderful, willing learners out there. Just waiting
for someone to tap into their learning potential. Are you ready
to teach them?
I found all of the course stimulating,
interesting and I now look forward to going back to put it all into
practice. I have already recommended the course to three different
people. A huge massive thanks. It's up to me now!
~ JN, West Lothian
Welcome to How To Be A Learning Expert. This is your opportunity,
like those before you, to explore, learn and practise hands on how
you can provide wonderful, fantastic, amazing, learning and training
events time after time after time. With less planning time and much
more fun.
Specifically written for trainers, presenters and facilitators who
work in the voluntary, charity and non profit sector. How to
be A Learning Expert is all geared to meet the demands of frontline
workers who are responsible for the training and learning of adults.
This session is run over three days with limited spaces, to ensure
you receive as much personal attention as you need. The content
will be challenging-- you may have to undo what you have heard and
learnt about traditional training and learning activities. You will
be asked to bring along current programmes and materials so that
you can apply what your learning right away.
If you want to become a learning expert and a fantastic trainer
and use tried and tested ways of working that leaves them longing
for more, you will be in the best company.
Imagine three full days with people who like you are passionate
about learning. Bliss! This course is for you if you want to
explore and practise how you can totally engage your learner: before
they arrive until long after they leave.
Prepare You and Your Learners For Fantastic Learning Events
All trainers can put on events. The audience attends, the content
is deliver verbatim, evaluation at the end. Thats it. By the
end of three days you will learn...
- how important it is to get your learners to opt in
to a learning and training event or ongoing programme and how
you can prepare them to learn.
- how to build rapport before the event and be ready and
to spot a learner desperate to learn.
- how to develop strategies and tools that engage with all
learners in their preferred learning style before they even
attend the training.
- to put the accountability willingly onto your learners
to learn.
- how to have a full house, less dropouts and higher sustainability.
- how to have learners ready to go and in the right learning state
before they arrive, and then get them fired up and ready to
go.
- How what you do before the event is just as important
as the event itself, no more bums-on-seat training.
Develop The Content To Ensure Every Learner Is Being Fed And Learning
The content is worthless unless you can be certain it is being
learnt. Creatively devise your material so that learners are in
a consistently positive state for learning. Plan a session that
does not challenge? You will lose learners. Plan one that is too
easy? Again lost learners.
But with How To Be A Learning Expert, you will...
- Understand the importance of states of mind and develop the
skills to magically lead learners into positive states.
- Devise and develop content whilst planning backwards
start with the end in mind. I will share with you techniques and
information that will ensure fantastic learning events that embrace
all individual learning styles.
- Move away from just content to creativity whilst planning, ensuring
the content is embedded, using activities that are meaningful
and make sense to the learner.
Become A Learning Expert, Facilitation Wizard or Pizzazz Presenter
- Discover how easy it is to move away from being the expert.
- Become a facilitator who is leading the learning and training
dance.
- Know when to shut up, take a step back and allow
learners to teach each other.
- Develop your own confidence in flying by the seat
of your pants whilst remaining the conductor.
- Discover what shuts down your learners and how to prevent
it.
- Moving from trainer to learning expert, facilitation wizard
and guru group worker... change your mind set.
- Develop a deep understanding of the brain in learning.
- Break down the barriers that learners have carried with them
for years. No more failing at learning.
Create Learning Playgrounds Where Everyone Is Invited
- Create training environments where you put the joy back in
learning.
- Ensure that the training events you create respect and value
the learner. Learn how to break the barriers they have forever.
- How to deliver training where the learner feels connected to
the content.
- Create learning playgrounds, where the surroundings and events
are real and make your learner feel important from before they
arrive till after they leave.
- Ensure that your training is magical from beginning to end.
Not fluff or childlike.
- Create spaces where learners are in the flow and have no barrier
to the content.
- Learn how to read a group and manage with respect what other
trainers see as problems: too noisy, too quiet, too snippity,
too challenging...
- How to help the 'heckler', the trouble maker or sabotage...
create safe environments where all people can learn, and learn
what's really going on
Use Cutting Edge Learning Methods
- Understand, use and be comfortable with cutting edge techniques
including NLP, emotional intelligence, flow, motivational interviewing,
accelerated learning, coaching and use of storytelling and metaphors.
- Learn PROVEN brain-based learning techniques that apply
to any audience, any size, any age, any level, any content.
- Create a tool kit, thats all yours... build yourself
as a indispensable training resource.
Be 100% Learner Centred, Not Content Focused
If the learner does not feel important or valued, you are wasting
time with the content. If they feel threatened in any way, no learning
will take place.
- How off the shelf training does not have to be one size fits
all... adapt materials to fit any learning style.
- Develop your skills and understanding of coaching.
- Become aware of each and every learner in the room and
how you can facilitate to include them all.
- Remove all threats the learner has.
Enhance and Develop Your Style and Delivery
- Discover how to develop your own unique style.
- Anyone can deliver content. Delivering in a way that holds and
leaves the audience longing for more is a professional
skill.
- Discover how to use the techniques available to you now that
will ensure you are engaging your learners, hooking them
in, breaking down the barriers they have by your words alone.
- Explore solutions for that dreaded 'dying up there
place. Develop your own confidence.
Be warned: this course is not fluff. I should add here...
please come with an open mind and a sense of humour. You may be
exploring a completely new way of working, and for that you need
to trust the process.
This course is for trainers, facilitators, group workers and presenters
who care deeply about learners. If in anyway you feel that it is
not for you, please do not book. This course is not full of jargon
and the 'right' way to train and deliver events. All learners are
different.
You will not be subjected to presentation style learning; you will
receive 3 full packed days of the techniques, tips, information,
tools that you can use immediately. You will be asked to share,
comment and practise your new information within a supportive group.
You will love the course if you are ready to explore why, when
and how people learn and how you can deliver (even off-the-shelf,
mandatory courses) to each learner in their preferred style so that
they are learning quicker, more efficiently and most of all happily.

| Edinburgh Castle (but not specifically IN the
castle :) |
Ready to join me this December 10, 11, and 12 in Edinburgh, Scotland?
Here are some of the problems you will solve...
Problem 1: Why do I spend hours and hours, even days planning?
Flying by the seat of my pants? No way! If this is you, you
are probably focusing on being the content expert as opposed to
being the how people like to learn' expert. You do not want
to leave anything out, or, heaven forbid, you have to say, I
really dont know about that. This course teaches you
that, yes, content is important but not as important as how your
learners feel. You will soon learn on this training course how to
plan more easily, efficiently and effectively and how to go with
the group and also get through the content!
Problem 2: How do I know that my learners are learning? Do
you ever wonder if they are getting it? Do you just look out onto
a sea of blank faces? Are you frustrated when they yawn; does it
burst your bubble? How do you feel when someone has not changed
their practice or behaviour weeks down the line? Most trainers can
relate to this one. You have a wonderful group of people or you're
working with someone 1:1, and they just do not think they have the
confidence to learn. You cannot get anyone to believe something
they do not want to. This course will help you to move into the
learners' shoes, understand their fears, and then show you the tools
and methods that you can adopt to lead people to a place of positive
belief and the feedback you receive you WILL know they have learnt!
Problem 3: Its frustrating, annoying and expensive when they
decide not to show up. Have you worked out why this is the case?
Have you changed flyers, courses, content, venue, times, dates,
had meetings to decide that now is the right time? In this course
you will quickly learn the tools to help you buy in and include
your learners before they even get to your event. It will be so
important to them they will show.
Problem 4: I have never trained before, and I have no idea where
to start. Then why not here? You will be with a others who have
not trained and some who have been at it a while. The course is
challenging but not impossible. If you have never trained, then
you are in an excellent position. As well as the information the
course provides, you will have access to another 19 peoples
experiences, stories and knowledge.
Problem 5: This would work well for X, I work with Y, so it
wont work will it? I have trained a huge amount of people
from all different walks of life. If you think it will not work
now, it wont. I have used the same techniques and tools I
will be sharing with you in this course, and they have worked. They'll
work for you too. The problem here is not with who you work with
but in how you work at present. I would advise you not to participate
if you feel that building knowledge on how to engage, inspire, motivate,
build passionate lifelong learners is not a good idea.
Problem 6: When learners are difficult, I focus
my attention on them just to stop them affecting the group. What
is your definition of difficult? What does it mean to
you? In this course you will learn how to engage with every learner,
build an honest rapport and lead them to a place where they feel
safe to learn. Being difficult, generally, can mean your learners
aren't comfy, safe or ready for what you are telling them. Did you
prepare your learners enough?
Problem 7: Why do some learners just like to test me? This
is an easy one. Its because they are learning. Are they testing
you or the content? Have the been sent? Do they want to be there?
Are they bored? Have you sent them a high enough challenge? Or are
they so bored that they have to do something? Have you interested
and involved them enough? This course will show you how to manage
hecklers whilst still having total respect for them.
Problem 8: How can I make sure they all turn up every single
time/every day? If you are given a group and they are being
paid to be there at an in-house event, then maybe this is not a
problem for you. We'll go over information you can put into practice
immediately before you even plan the content to ensure they are
going to turn up. Would you go to a course you knew nothing about
it? What would it feel like if you were part if planning?
Problem 9: I cant find enough resources and games.
There are many online resources and books out there, and I will
supply the details on the course. However, this course is not about
how to play games/icebreakers or setting up a role play! Some use
these activities separate to the learning. They end up being inappropriate,
mistimed, out of place and make your learner feel unsafe. This course
will teach of how to combine all your activities in an organised
fashion, so nothing feels out of place for your audience.
Leave them longing for more...
Long after you have left
The course was excellent. Dawn was always
patient and understanding to my needs. It built my confidence and
for me you could have not made it any better. Thank you"
~M Knowles, Teacher, London
The course was a fantastic learning
experience. Thank you for helping me love training again. I feel
more confident and definitely feel ready, skilled and knowledgeable.
And you have made me an I CAN person.
~D Edmonds, Freelance Production Manager
Okay...how much?
I really wanted to create something that was valuable and attainable.
What I want to share with you has taken me to 15 years to gather,
learn and practise.
I want to give you at least 10 years' worth of learning in 3 days.
I want to show you my mistakes and how I put them right and what
this has cost me.
Here's what I've set the How To Be A Learning Expert at:
one full instalment of £897.00 and two instalments of £475.00
each. I also recognise that there are times when two people from
the same organisation wish to attend the same learning events. I'm
offering a 20% discount for any additional employees.
Can I share with you something?
I recently received information on a half day workshop being run
here in Edinburgh on 'Facilitation Skills'; the price was only £399.00.
I researched a bit further and found two more examples: a one day
'Presentation Skills' seminar at £397.00 (Mmm, a SEMINAR on
Presentation Skills...where is the learning there?) and lastly,
a 'Train The Trainer' PROFESSIONAL (that's how they billed it) Programme,
again a one-day event at £595.00! That's a grand total of
£1391.00 ex VAT! (£1634.42 including VAT, if like me
you need to work things like that out). Now that's only two and
half days 'bums-on-seats' learning. No extras, no bonuses, NO LUNCH!
What the...?
Now... can I pose you a question?
Can 'professional' trainers be produced in a day? You'll agree
that your role is a craft. It takes years to build confidence, develop
a style, then keep on learning. You know that no trainer worth their
salt would ever stop learning. Sure, most people can deliver content.
They can follow a plan.
You will love this course if you want to develop your knowledge
and skills much further than you ever expected.
And... let's see what else you can get...
I do not like one-off learning events, where the fee is paid up
and the trainers leave you at the end to get on with it. I want
to deliver to you a full package. I listened to the feedback of
past participants and understand that what you learn on three days
is a lot to take in. To pull it all together you may need support.
Therefore, I have included the following bonuses...

They've been calling me at work and at home and they are buzzing
with enthusiasm."
~C S, Training Manager
Way way above my expectations, never
thought it would be that good! So much fun learning and I know so
much about me and the way I work now. One thing...can you provide
support after the course has finished. It was loads to take in.
100%
Guarantee
I am so confident in what I am sharing with you. If for any reason
you decide after your first day that it is not what you thought
it was, what you expected or it does not meet your individual needs,
just return your manuals, and I will refund your FULL fee, no quibbles,
no questions asked. I promise.
Attend with a fellow trainer, and they receive a 20% discount
I offer this because I know you may work closely with another trainer,
facilitator, group worker. In order to apply what you learn it is
always useful to have that person understand what you are changing

will be so enthused by what you will learn, it will be brilliant
to share that with someone else. This discount is only available
to someone from the same organisation as you. Why? You both have
a clear understanding of the 'business' and you will be working
on a piece of work to become a learning organisation.

to be a learning expert?

I realise I will be learning new cutting edge methods

events to my learners, time and time again.

me with individual attention to ensure I'm processing
the learning.

I will meet my peers and begin to establish long-lasting

of teleconferences before and after the event. During
these conferences I will be able to ask questions and embed
my learning and bring up anything I am unsure about.
- I understand that I will be added to the Training Minds
newsletter, which will include additional tips, techniques
and information.
- 4 months FREE membership to the Training Minds forum,
exclusively for people who have attended a training expert
event.
- Best of all, I can book risk-free. If the programme
does not meet my needs, I will receive a full refund.

receive a 20% discount. (Email us to find out how

P.S. The truth is there are many organisations and trainers out
there who only care about 'bums-on-seats' learning. They do not
care about learners: how they feel, how they learn, how they make
meaning of the content. They get by with boring, dull, ineffective
learning that put learners off learning for life. They deliver a
one size fits all approach... until now
P.P.S. There are learners who are accessing your services now who
are crying out for what I want to share with you. Together let's
ensure they no longer have barriers or fall through the net... let's
get started.
